The SIP account contains information that allows your ZyXEL Device to connect to your VoIP service provider. Use this screen to maintain basic information about the SIP account. This lets the ZyXEL Device reduce the bandwidth that a call uses by not transmitting "silent packets" when you are not speaking. Comfort Noise Generation When using VAD, the ZyXEL Device generates comfort noise when the other party is not speaking. The SIP Account Screen
The ZyXEL Device uses a SIP account to make outgoing VoIP calls and check if an
incoming call’s destination number matches your SIP account’s SIP number. In
order to make or receive a VoIP call, you need to enable and configure a SIP
account, and map it to a phone port. The SIP account contains information that
allows your ZyXEL Device to connect to your VoIP service provider.
Use this screen to maintain basic information about the SIP account. You can also
enable and disable the SIP account, configure the volume, echo cancellation and
VAD (Voice Activity Detection) settings for each individual phone port on the
ZyXEL Device.
Voice Activity Detection/Silence Suppression
Voice Activity Detection (VAD) detects whether or not speech is present. This lets
