If you have no softkeys configured on the IP Phone, and you assign softkey functions to higher number keys in the Aastra Web UI, the key functions automatically appear in the first available position on the LCD display. For example, if softkey 1 is set to BLF/Xfer and softkeys 2 through 11 are set to "None" and you configure softkey 12 as the following: Type: speed dial Label: LAB Value: 3456 after saving the settings, the "LAB" label actually appears in position 2 of the LCD. A softkey function of "None" does not display on the idle screen at all. The following illustrations show the configuration of Key 12 and how that key displays on the phone.
