Changing Your Backup Settings Customizing Backup Settings Using Wizards Adaptec File Saver has three Wizards to help you quickly customize your backup settings. Note: You should be an advanced user before attempting to use a Wizard. Each of the three Wizards automatically includes and excludes items for backup based on one of these categories. Choose the Wizard that best suits your needs: ■ Select items for backup from existing files. See page 3-6. ■ Select items for backup from applications installed on your computer. See page 3-8. ■ Select items for backup by excluding common file categories. See page 3-10. ! Caution: When you use any of these Wizards, any previous customized settings are removed and the Wizard settings are applied. Note: Setting changes apply only to backups that occur after the change is made, and do not affect your existing backup files. To delete backup files that you no longer want, see Deleting Backup Files on page 5-14. 3-5

Customizing Backup Settings Using Wizards
Adaptec File Saver has three Wizards to help you quickly
customize your backup settings.
Note:
You should be an advanced user before attempting to
use a Wizard.
Each of the three Wizards automatically includes and excludes
items for backup based on one of these categories. Choose the
Wizard that best suits your needs:
