Changing Your Backup Settings Applying Default Settings If you have made custom adjustments to your backup settings but want to return Adaptec File Saver to its default settings (see page 1-8), you can do so without affecting previously backed-up files. Setting changes apply only to backups that occur after the change is made, and do not affect your existing backup files. Note: Plan to be off your computer while Adaptec File Saver resets to its default settings. The process can be lengthy and resource-intensive, so Adaptec recommends that you close all other open applications before you begin and not work in any files until the reset is complete. To reset Adaptec File Saver to its default settings: 1 Open the Adaptec File Saver window by clicking the icon on your desktop or system tray. 2 In the main menu (shown on page page 2-2), click Change Backup Settings. 3 Select Apply default settings. 3-23
