Restoring Files and Folders Restoring Backup Files You can restore a file to its original location, or a new location. By default, when you restore a backup file, the most current backed up version is restored. If you are an advanced user, you can also restore backup files from the view windows. See Viewing and Managing Your Backup Files on page 5-1 for more information. To restore backup files to your computer: 1 Double-click the Adaptec File Saver icon on your computer's desktop or system tray. 2 Click Restore Files and Folders. The Restore Files and Folders window opens. (It may take a few moments for the contents to display.) 3 Select and deselect the backup files you want to restore by clicking inside their checkboxes. A checkmark inside a box means the files will be restored. No checkmark means the file will not be restored. Select Backup of C to restore all files from your C drive (normally your computer's hard drive) that have been backed up. 4-2

Restoring Backup Files
You can restore a file to its original location, or a new location. By
default, when you restore a backup file, the
most current
backed up
version is restored.
If you are an advanced user, you can also restore backup files from
the view windows. See

for more information.
To restore backup files to your computer:

Double-click the Adaptec File Saver icon on your computer’s

Restore Files and Folders

The Restore Files and Folders window opens. (It may take a few

Select and deselect the backup files you want to restore by

means the files will be restored. No checkmark means the file

Backup of C
to restore all files from your C drive
(normally your computer’s hard drive) that have been backed
up.
