Protocol Configuration Items TCP/IP Configuration • IP Address • Gateway (when routers exist on your network) ■ IP Address An IP address is a series of numbers that identifies each computer connected to the Internet. An IP address consists of four numbers separated by dots. Each number is between 0 and 255. You must allocate a unique IP address that is correct for the attached network.
