Using a SCSI connection SCSI stands for Small Computer Systems Interface, and is an industry-standard input/ output for PCs. SCSI devices include disk drives, CD-ROM drives, scanners, and other devices. SCSI allows you to install a variety of these devices by connecting them to a single SCSI card, and using cables to connect the devices to each other. If you are using a SCSI connection, you should review this section and follow the appropriate instructions. SCSI card and cable specifications If you are purchasing a new SCSI card, it must meet the specifications below. If there is a flyer inside the scanner box for a SCSI card, this is the card that HP recommends. s The SCSI interface card must be compliant with the operating system that you are running. s The SCSI card must be installed with appropriate software drivers.
