Heat sink, Loosening the heat sink screws

Heat sink Description Heat sink Spare part number 587456-001 The heat sink is secured by four Torx screws. It does not have an attached fan. 1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for Disassembly on page 204). 2. Remove the computer access panel (Access Panel on page 205). 3. Lift the front fan up and place it on top of the optical drive to access the front bezel release tabs. You do not need to disconnect the fan cable from the system board. 4. Loosen the four Torx T15 screws that secure the heat sink to the system board, and then lift the heat sink from the system board.
