Installing the HP Surestore Bridge into a Rack Installing the bridge into a rack requires assembling L-brackets to the bridge and then mounting the L-brackets to a rack. L-brackets allow the bridge to be mounted in a fixed position in the back of a rack. Note All connections, displays and functionality of the bridge are located on the back, allowing it to be mounted toward the back of a rack. Front access is not necessary. Note The power distribution unit (PDU) for the 20/700 library must have the outlets facing up. Install the bridge 2 EIA units above the PDU in order to allow enough room for the power cables to be inserted into the PDU outlets (see Figure 20 on page 59). The power distribution unit for the 10/180 library should be mounted in the bottom back of the rack with the outlets facing out (see Power Distribution Unit Installation (PDU) on page 58). 52 Installing the HP Surestore Bridge Chapter 3
