Removing a DVD-ROM or CD-ROM Drive 1. Observe the safety and ESD precautions at the beginning of this book. 2. Power down the server and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable. 3. Remove the chassis cover. For instructions, see "Removing the Chassis Cover" on page 24. 4. Remove the front bezel if it is installed. For instructions, see "Removing and Installing the Front Bezel" on page 26. 5. Disconnect the power and data cables to the DVD-ROM / CD-ROM drive. 6. Remove the DVD-ROM / CD-ROM assembly from the server system by pressing in on the slide release latches. See letter "A" in the following figure. 7. Remove the slides from the DVD-ROM or CD-ROM drive by pulling the slides away from the drive. See letter "B". A gentle pull should release the slide from the side dimple on the drive. If not replacing with another drive, re-attach pair of slides to an EMI shield and reinsert EMI shield/slide assembly into the server system for proper airflow. See the following figure. Removing a DVD-ROM or CD-ROM Drive
1.
Observe the safety and ESD precautions at the beginning of this book.
2.
Power down the server and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable.
3.
Remove the chassis cover. For instructions, see
“Removing the Chassis Cover” on
page 24
.
4.
Remove the front bezel if it is installed. For instructions, see
“Removing and
Installing the Front Bezel” on page 26
.
5.
Disconnect the power and data cables to the DVD-ROM / CD-ROM drive.
6.
Remove the DVD-ROM / CD-ROM assembly from the server system by pressing
in on the slide release latches. See letter “A” in the following figure.
7.
Remove the slides from the DVD-ROM or CD-ROM drive by pulling the slides
away from the drive. See letter “B”. A gentle pull should release the slide from the
side dimple on the drive.

8.
