Removing and Installing the Processor Air Duct Always operate your server system with the processor air duct in place. The air duct is required for proper airflow within the server system. Removing the Processor Air Duct 1. Observe the safety and ESD precautions at the beginning of this book. See "Safety Information" on page iii. 2. Power down the server system and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable. 3. Remove the chassis cover. For instructions, see "Removing the Chassis Cover" on page 24. 4. Squeeze together at the touch points on the processor air duct to disengage it from the server system. See letter "A" in the following figure. 5. Lift the processor air duct from the server system. Removing and Installing the Processor Air Duct
Always operate your server system with the processor air duct in place. The air duct is
required for proper airflow within the server system.
Removing the Processor Air Duct
1.
Observe the safety and ESD precautions at the beginning of this book. See
“Safety
Information” on page iii

2.
Power down the server system and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power
cable.
3.
Remove the chassis cover. For instructions, see
“Removing the Chassis Cover” on
page 24
.
4.
Squeeze together at the touch points on the processor air duct to disengage it from
the server system. See letter “A” in the following figure.
5.
Lift the processor air duct from the server system. See letter “B”.
