M4300 Series and M4300-96X Fully Managed Switches The following features are supported by autorecovery: • Keepalive. If loop protection is enabled, loop protection detects a loop, and the loop protection action is to disable the interface, the interface is placed in the D-Disable state. If autorecovery is enabled, the interface comes back up after the time-out interval expires. • BPDU storm. If the number of BPDUs exceeds 15 for three consecutive seconds, the interface is placed in the D-Disable state. If autorecovery is enabled, the interface comes back up after the time-out interval expires. • BPDU guard. The STP BPDU guard feature lets you enforce the STP domain borders and keep the active topology consistent and predictable. (Switches behind edge ports for which STP BPDU guard is enabled cannot influence the overall STP topology.) If the BPDU guard feature is enabled and a port receives BPDUs, the port is placed in the D-Disable state. If autorecovery is enabled, the port comes back up after the time-out interval expires. • Broadcast storm. If broadcast storm control is enabled, the threshold value is exceeded, and the broadcast storm action is to disable the interface, the interface is placed in the D-Disable state. If autorecovery is enabled, the interface comes back up after the time-out interval expires. • Multicast storm. If multicast storm control is enabled, the threshold value is exceeded, and the multicast storm action is to disable the interface, the interface is placed in the D-Disable state. If autorecovery is enabled, the interface comes back up after the time-out interval expires. • Unicast storm. If unicast storm control is enabled, the threshold value is exceeded, and the unicast storm action is to disable the interface, the interface is placed in the D-Disable state. If autorecovery is enabled, the interface comes back up after the time-out interval expires. • Auto-DoS. If auto-DoS is enabled and the switch detects a DoS attack, the interface is placed in the D-Disable state. If autorecovery is enabled, the interface comes back up after the time-out interval expires. • Port MAC address locking. If dynamic MAC address locking is configured, the number of MAC addresses exceeds the threshold, and the port security violation action is to shut down the port, the port is placed in the D-Disable state. If autorecovery is enabled, the port comes back up after the time-out interval expires. • Dynamic ARP inspection. If dynamic ARP inspection (DAI) is enabled and the threshold value is reached, the interface is placed in the D-Disable state. If autorecovery is enabled, the interface comes back up after the time-out interval expires. • DHCP rate limiting. If DHCP snooping is enabled and the incoming DHCP packet rate exceeds the threshold, the interface is placed in the D-Disable state. If autorecovery is enabled, the interface comes back up after the time-out interval expires. • UDLD. If Unidirectional Link Detection (UDLD) is enabled and the unidirectional connection is detected, the interface is placed in the D-Disable state. The following features are supported by autorecovery:

•

Keepalive

. If loop protection is enabled, loop protection detects a loop, and the loop

protection action is to disable the interface, the interface is placed in the D-Disable state.

If autorecovery is enabled, the interface comes back up after the time-out interval expires.

•

BPDU storm

. If the number of BPDUs exceeds 15 for three consecutive seconds, the

interface is placed in the D-Disable state. If autorecovery is enabled, the interface comes

back up after the time-out interval expires.

•

BPDU guard

. The STP BPDU guard feature lets you enforce the STP domain borders

and keep the active topology consistent and predictable. (Switches behind edge ports for

which STP BPDU guard is enabled cannot influence the overall STP topology.) If the

BPDU guard feature is enabled and a port receives BPDUs, the port is placed in the

D-Disable state. If autorecovery is enabled, the port comes back up after the time-out

interval expires.

•

Broadcast storm

. If broadcast storm control is enabled, the threshold value is exceeded,

and the broadcast storm action is to disable the interface, the interface is placed in the

D-Disable state. If autorecovery is enabled, the interface comes back up after the

time-out interval expires.

•

Multicast storm

. If multicast storm control is enabled, the threshold value is exceeded,

and the multicast storm action is to disable the interface, the interface is placed in the

D-Disable state. If autorecovery is enabled, the interface comes back up after the

time-out interval expires.

•

Unicast storm

. If unicast storm control is enabled, the threshold value is exceeded, and

the unicast storm action is to disable the interface, the interface is placed in the D-Disable

state. If autorecovery is enabled, the interface comes back up after the time-out interval

expires.

•

Auto-DoS

. If auto-DoS is enabled and the switch detects a DoS attack, the interface is

placed in the D-Disable state. If autorecovery is enabled, the interface comes back up

after the time-out interval expires.

•

Port MAC address locking

. If dynamic MAC address locking is configured, the number

of MAC addresses exceeds the threshold, and the port security violation action is to shut

down the port, the port is placed in the D-Disable state. If autorecovery is enabled, the

port comes back up after the time-out interval expires.

•

Dynamic ARP inspection

. If dynamic ARP inspection (DAI) is enabled and the threshold

value is reached, the interface is placed in the D-Disable state. If autorecovery is enabled,

the interface comes back up after the time-out interval expires.

•

DHCP rate limiting

. If DHCP snooping is enabled and the incoming DHCP packet rate

exceeds the threshold, the interface is placed in the D-Disable state. If autorecovery is

enabled, the interface comes back up after the time-out interval expires.

•

UDLD

. If Unidirectional Link Detection (UDLD) is enabled and the unidirectional

connection is detected, the interface is placed in the D-Disable state. If autorecovery is

enabled, the interface comes back up after the time-out interval expires.
