Therefore, you should never rely solely upon any wireless phone for essential communications (for example, medical emergencies). Remember, to make or receive any calls the phone must be switched on and in a service area with adequate signal strength. Emergency calls may not be possible on all wireless phone networks or when certain network services and/or phone features are in use. Check with local service providers. If the battery is almost fully discharged when you connect a charger to your phone, it might be necessary to wait a few minutes before you will be able to make or receive calls. Emergency numbers vary by location. If the official emergency number that has been programmed into your phone differs from the number that is used in your current location, do not use the emergency key 9 feature ("Use emergency key 9" on page 53) to make the call. Instead, manually enter the official number that is used in your current location, then press .
