Sending Originals 4 There are two ways to send the fax: • To scan the original into memory, then dial and transmit, continue with the "Dialing and Transmitting" section. • To dial and transmit the original directly without first scanning it into memory, press the ORIGINAL key. "DIRECT SEND" will appear in the display. Continue with the "Dialing and Transmitting" section. When placing the Original on the Table: 1 Confirm that there are no originals in the SPF, and open the original cover. 2 Place the original face down on the original table. Align the original according to the original scale in the illustration below. (Make sure the upper 8 left corner of the original is set to the position indicated by the " " mark, as shown.) Original scale mark 3 Gently close the original cover. Note: When using the original table, do not set originals in the SPF. 4 Press the BOOK SEND key. • You can now make resolution or contrast settings as described in the next section. 5 Press the BOOK SEND key to scan the page into memory. There are two ways to send the fax:

and transmit, continue with the “Dialing and
Transmitting” section.
•
To dial and transmit the original directly
without first scanning it into memory, press
the
ORIGINAL
key. “DIRECT SEND” will

“Dialing and Transmitting” section.
