Learning the Basics 71 Playing a CD or DVD Use the eject button to release the disc tray. This button requires power to operate. CAUTION: Never press the eject button or turn off the computer while the activity light is glowing. Doing so could damage the disc or the drive. The manual eject button allows you to manually open the disc tray when power to the computer and the drive is off. To open the disc tray manually, insert a straightened paper clip or other narrow object through the manual eject button's access hole. The vent, located at the lower right-hand side of the drive, cools the DVD-ROM drive's internal mechanisms. Do not block this vent. HINT: When the computer is off and the DVD-ROM drive is on, press the stop/eject control button on the top of the computer to eject a disc. Part I: Getting to Know Your Computer
