The following versions are supported: s On Windows s Internet Explorer (IE) 5.0 or later s Netscape 7 or later s On Linux s Adaptec-supplied and installed version of Mozilla s Netscape 7 or later When using Adaptec Storage Manager, you need to log on to your system with administrator privileges. Custom and Compact Installations If you are considering performing a custom or compact installation, read this section prior to performing the installation. If not, skip this section. The following setup options are available: s Typical (default)-Supports local and remote management; however, Adaptec SNMP is not included. s Custom-For expert users who want to select and install specific components. The following components are available: s Managed System Components-If you choose this selection only, the installation is the same as a Compact installation. s Adaptec Web Server-Installs components allowing managed systems to communicate with Web browsers. s Adaptec Storage Manager Notifier-Installs messaging, including email and broadcaster capabilities. s Adaptec SNMP-Installs components used by SNMP-based applications.
