Creating Driver Floppy Disks Running Windows To create the driver disk for all operating systems: 1 Insert the Adaptec Installation CD into your CD-ROM drive and select Adaptec Utilities from the Main menu. 2 From the Adaptec Utilities menu, select Create Driver Disk. 3 Select the appropriate operating system and press Enter. 4 Select the appropriate driver disk option and press Enter. 5 When prompted, insert a blank floppy disk into your A: drive and follow the on-screen instructions. Note: If you are creating a driver disk for a non-Windows operating system, you must insert a formatted floppy disk into your A drive. Running UnixWare or Open Unix To create the driver disk for UnixWare or Open Unix: 1 Open a UNIX terminal. 2 At the root prompt, type: sdiconfig -l 3 Locate the device node for your CD-ROM drive, for example, c1b0t1l0. Mount the CD by typing: mount -F cdfs -r /dev/cdrom/c1b0t1l0 /mnt where c1b0t1l0 is the device node. D-3

Running Windows
To create the driver disk for all operating systems:

Insert the Adaptec Installation CD into your CD-ROM drive
and select
Adaptec Utilities
from the Main menu.

Adaptec Utilities
menu, select
Create Driver Disk
.

.

Note:
If you are creating a driver disk for a non-Windows

To create the driver disk for UnixWare or Open Unix:

Open a UNIX terminal.

. Mount the CD by typing:
mount -F cdfs -r /dev/cdrom/c1b0t1l0 /mnt
where
