Upper Threading This section describes how to position the spool for the upper thread, and then thread the needle. 1 CAUTION ● When threading the upper thread, carefully follow the instructions. If the upper threading is not correct, the thread may become tangled and the needle may bend or break. Memo z The order that the machine should be threaded is indicated by a solid line on the sewing machine. Be sure to thread the machine as indicated. About the spool of thread Information about the spools of thread is described below. CAUTION ● Three spool cap sizes are available (large, medium and small), allowing you to choose a spool cap that best fits the size of spool being used. If the spool cap is too small for the spool being used, the thread may catch on the slit in the spool and the needle may break. Upper Threading 29
