Sewing thick fabrics

Turn the presser foot pressure dial at the back b of the machine to adjust the pressure of the presser foot. The presser foot pressure can be set to one of four levels (between 1 and 4). The larger the setting, the stronger the pressure. Use setting 1 or 2 for thick fabrics, use setting 3 or 4 for thinner fabrics. 1 2 When you encounter a seam that is too thick a to feed under the foot, raise the presser foot lever. Press the black button (presser foot holding b pin) on the left side of zigzag foot "J". Keep the button held in and lower the presser foot. 1 2 a Strong b Weak When you are finished sewing, reset the dial to c 3 (standard). Release the button. The foot will lock in place c level with the seam, allowing the fabric to feed. ■ If thick seams are being sewn and the fabric does not feed at the beginning of stitching Zigzag foot "J" is equipped with a feature that keeps the presser foot level. a X Once the trouble spot has been passed, the foot will return to its normal position.
