Removing a Media Card Reader 1 Follow the procedures in "Before You Begin" on page 21. 2 Lay the computer on its side so that the system board is on the bottom of the inside of the computer. 3 Remove the computer cover (see "Removing the Computer Cover" on page 168). 4 Remove the optical drive and carefully set it aside (see "Optical Drive" on page 204). NOTICE: Do not pull the drive out of the computer by the drive cables. Doing so may cause damage to cables and the cable connectors. 5 Remove the cable from the media card reader connector. 6 Remove the hard drive (see "Removing a Hard Drive" on page 197). 7 Disconnect the cable. 1 1 media card reader data cable 8 Pull up on the drive release latch and slide the media card reader towards the back of the computer.
