6. Secure the end of the card to the back of the computer with the retaining screw. 7. Follow the instructions in Chapter 5 to replace the computer's cover. Removing an Option Card If you need to remove an option card, follow these steps: 1. Remove the screw securing the card to the back of the computer and pull it straight up and out of the slot. 2. Cover the option slot opening with the original metal slot cover and secure it with the retaining screw. 3. If you are removing an option card that controls a mouse, you need to change the setting of jumper JP7 on the main system board. If you are removing a display adapter card, you may need to change the settings of jumpers JP4 and JP6. See page 6-4 for instructions. 4.
