Note If you are using the keyboard that came with your computer (or another IBM AT compatible keyboard), the default setting for the initial num lock setting is ON. If you are using a keyboard that has 83 or 84 keys, the initial num lock default setting is OFF. The keyboard repeat rate option lets you change the speed at which your keyboard repeats a character when you hold down a key. The default setting is Normal, but you can make the rate faster or slower. Follow these steps to check or change the keyboard and speaker options: 1. At the main Setup menu, highlight Keyboard/Sound. The current settings appear: Speaker Enabled Initial num lock ON KB repeat rate Normal If the displayed settings are appropriate for you, skip the rest of this section. 2. To change any of the settings, press I. The cursor block moves into the submenu and the Speaker option is highlighted. 3. To enable or disable the speaker (turn it on or off), press IEnter 4.
