Network server mode An optional password mode that provides extra security for a computer that is operating as a network server. Non-inter/aced mode A technique used by the built-in VGA display adapter that refreshes all the lines on the monitor screen sequentially from top to bottom. Numeric keypad The number keys grouped on the right side of the keyboard. Operating speed The speed at which the central processing unit executes commands. Depending on the model you have, your computer can run at 25 MHz or 50 MHz and can simulate an 8 MHz operating speed. Operating system A collection of programs (such as MS-DOS, MS OS/2, or UNIX) that manages a computer's operations. The operating system determines how programs run on the computer and supervises all input and output. Option card A circuit board you install inside the computer to provide additional capabilities, such as a modem. OS/2 Operating System/2.
