Diskette Drive Problems If you see a diskette error message or have difficulty with a diskette drive, follow these steps: 1. Try running the Diskette drives and controller diagnostic test described in Appendix C. If the diagnostics program indicates an error, consult your Epson dealer. 2. If you installed the drive yourself, did you carefully follow all the instructions in Chapter 7? Review the instructions and check all cable connections to make sure you have installed the drive correctly. 3. Did you run the Setup program to define the correct type of diskette drive as part of your computer's configuration? (See Chapter 2 for instructions.) 4. If you still have trouble with the drive, run the Diskette drive and controller diagnostic tests described in Appendix C. If the diagnostics program indicates an error, contact your Epson dealer. 5. If the diskette drive is making loud noises, do not attempt any further examination of it. Contact your Epson dealer. Note Diskette drives may make different sounds accessing different diskettes.
