Chapter 7 Installing and Removing Drives The instructions in this chapter describe how to install and remove optional Epson drives in your computer. You can use these instructions to install a variety of devices, including diskette drives, hard disk drives, and tape drives. Even if your drive looks a bit different from the one illustrated here, you install it the same way. If you want to install or remove a non-Epson drive, you can follow these instructions, although some of the steps in this chapter may not apply. See the manual that came with your drive for more information. This chapter describes how to do the following: CI Use the correct drive bay 0 Set the IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) jumpers on a hard disk drive Ll Install or remove a drive in the external drive bay Ct Install or remove an internal drive. Before you perform any of the procedures described below, remove the computer's cover as described in Chapter 5.
