Setting the Processor Speed Your computer's processor can operate at two speeds: high or low. High speed is 25 MHz or 50 MHz (depending on your model) and low speed simulates 8 MHz. The processor is set to operate at high speed (where it can access memory faster) unless you change it to low or set the speed to change automatically (when necessary). When the computer is running at high speed, the TURBO indicator on the front panel is illuminated. You should use high speed for almost everything you do unless you are using an application program that requires a slower speed.
