Chapter 6: Configuring your RAID solutions Configuring your ROMB RAID solution with the RAID BIOS Console configuration utility The Intel RAID BIOS Console configuration utilities provide full-featured, HTML-based configuration and management of optional ROMB RAID arrays. The BIOS Console resides in firmware and is independent of the operating system. The BIOS Console configuration utility lets you: ■ Choose a configuration method for physical arrays and logical disks ■ Create drive arrays ■ Define and initialize logical drives ■ Access controller, logical drives, and physical arrays to display their properties ■ Create hot spare drives ■ Rebuild failed drives ■ Verify data redundancy in RAID 1, 5, 10, or 50 logical drives The following table shows the icons found on the top toolbar of the main BIOS Console configuration screen.
