Installing drives Installing drives Your server's basic configuration includes one CD or DVD drive and one USB 3.5-inch diskette drive (included with the accessories and not installed in the server). Your server also has two additional 5.25-inch drive bays (if your server is equipped with the LCP panel, only one additional 5.25-inch drive is available). Your server can have one of the following hard drive configurations: ■ As many as six, hot-swap SATA (standard) or SCSI (optional) drives in one drive bay ■ As many as four, hot-swap SCSI drives in an optional second drive bay (with SCSI option) CD or DVD drive 5.25-inch drive bay Local Control Panel (LCP) (optional - shown installed in bottom 5.25-inch drive bay) As you prepare to install drives, remember: ■ Do not use the top 5.25-inch drive bay for drives which have electronic components exposed on the top. Drive mounting rails at the top of the bay may damage any exposed electronic components. ■ Before you install a drive, see the drive's documentation for information on configuring the drive, setting drive jumpers, and attaching cables. www.gateway.com 53

Your server’s basic configuration includes one CD or DVD drive and one USB 3.5-inch
diskette drive (included with the accessories and not installed in the server). Your server
also has two additional 5.25-inch drive bays (if your server is equipped with the LCP panel,
