F System Battery HP ProLiant ML530 Generation 2 servers have a memory function that requires a battery for retaining stored information. System Board Battery Replacement When your server no longer automatically displays the correct date and time, you may need to replace the battery that provides power to the real-time clock. Under normal use, battery life is usually about 5 to 10 years. Use an HP 540-mAh, lithium, 3-volt replacement battery (CR 2032). The HP spare part number for the battery is 175115-001. WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to the equipment, do not disable the power cord grounding plug. The grounding plug is an important safety feature. WARNING: Plug the power cord into a grounded (earthed) electrical outlet that is easily accessible at all times. WARNING: To remove all power from the server, unplug the power cord from either the electrical outlet or the server or other product. If there is more than one power cord, all cords must be unplugged before all power is removed from the server. To install a new battery: 1. If the server is on, remove power from the system.
