Page 40 highlights

The default Exposure Mode setting is Auto. The Exposure Mode setting resets to Auto when you turn off the camera. The following table describes the Exposure Mode settings. Icon Setting Description None Auto The camera automatically selects an aperture and shutter speed. Action The camera biases toward faster shutter speeds and higher ISO speeds to stop action. Landscape The camera biases toward smaller apertures and lower ISO speeds for better depth of field and quality. Portrait The camera biases toward wider apertures to blur the background. Macro Use when taking close-up pictures of subjects between 0.1 to 0.8 m (2.5 to 32 in) away. When you set the Exposure Mode to Action , Landscape , or Portrait , the ISO Speed menu option is grayed-out in the Capture menu and the camera automatically selects the best ISO Speed setting. When you set the Exposure Mode to Macro to take close-up pictures, be sure to use Live View. (Live View turns on automatically.) Parallax error can occur at close range (which means that some of the subject you see through the viewfinder will not actually appear in your captured image), and Live View alleviates this problem while you are using the Macro setting. If you want to use the viewfinder while using Macro instead, see Using the viewfinder on page 28. 40 hp photosmart 630 series user's manual
