Library SCSI-3 Command Set Log Sense Command (4DH) Table 2-105 There are three types of flags, listed below in order of increasing severity: Severity Critical Warning Information Urgent User Intervention X Risk of Data Loss X X Explanations X X The definitions of the 64 alert flags in the Log page vary, depending on the device type. The following table details the currently defined error flags in the TapeAlert specification for libraries. Tape Drive/ Library Flag Definitions No Flag Type 1 Library C Hardware A 2 Library W Hardware B Displayed Message Probable Cause The library mechanism is having difficulty communicating with the drive. 1. Turn the library off then on. 2. Wait for the library to finish POST. 3. If necessary, put the drive back online. 4. Restart the operation. 5. If problem persists, contact library support. Changer mechanism is having trouble communicating with the internal drive. There is a problem with the library mechanism. If problem persists, contact library support.
