Recording a source vej •or Ir REC OUT Input selectors Recording an audio source With this unit you can perform recording while listening to the sound of another source through speakers or headphones. Make all connections between the tape deck and the unit as shown in the Audio equipment connections diagram (page I I ). Press the input selector button (other than TAPE-1) to select the source to be recorded. 2. Press the REC OUT button. 3. Press the REC OUT button again while the REC OUT indicator is flashing. The SOURCE and the source you have chosen will he displayed in red boxes. ( 5 ) 4. Start the device selected in step 1 while setting the tape deck connected to TAPE-1 to recording mode. Use on-screen Press the ENTER button. Select the Rec Selector screen from the Menu screen useing A or • cursor button, and press the ENTER button. Select the desired SOURCE using the Al and ► cursor buttons. Picture, Sound: Indicates which picture and sound sources can be recorded, and which devices can he used to record onto. Press the t or 11.- cursor button to select a recording source or picture. For example (See the diagram on the left.) The recording source for the Picture is VIDEO-4, and this source can he recorded to VIDEO-2 or VIDEO-3. The recording source for the sound is CD. and this source can he recorded to the device connected to TAPE-I, VIDEO-2 or VIDEO-3. • Never change the positions of any controls on this unit during recording and dubbing operations. • Pressing the input selector button during recording will change the source being recorded. • When the TAPE-2 MONITOR indicator is on. only TAPE-2 can be recorded and if the input selector is changed, the TAPE-2 MONITOR indicator will not change. When recording a source different from the one you are listening to: 1. Press the REC OUT button. 2. Press the input selector button (other than TAPE-1) for the source to be recorded, while the REC OUT indicator is flashing. The chosen source will be displayed in a red box. ( 5 ) 3. Start the device selected in step 2, and start recording on the tape deck connected to TAPE-1, or on any recording device connected to the VIDEO-2 or VIDEO-3 audio output jacks.
