Listening in another room MR OFF button and indicator Use this button for tape recording or for the Surround sound modes. It is used to disable control of the ITT4" system via the remote controller in another room. Pressing this button will illuminate the indicator, and control from another room will be disabled. Pressing the button again will turn the indicator off, and control from the other room will be enabled. NOTES: • The Surround becomes BY-PASS when the multi-source is used. • The source indicated by the Input Selector will be output from the TAPE-1 and 2, and VIDEO-2 and 3 REC OUT terminals. • Pressing the REC OUT button will turn off the Remote speakers. • If the multi source is selected, MR OFF will automatically be deactivated. • If the multi source is selected for REC OUT, or the SURROUND MODE button is pressed, MR OFF will automatically be activated. Using the remote controller You can use the remote controller supplied with TX-SV636 to operate the source devices selected for the multi-source if they are an Onkyo's CD or cassette deck bearing the R I mark. If you wish to use a second remote controller for the sub room. You can use an optional remote controller RC-MR 1H. You need to install the Remote Sensor and the Remote Emitter to control non-Onkyo devices from another room (sub room). Operate the remote controller included with the device by pointing it toward the remote sensor installed in the sub room. If a problem occurs, carry out the same countermeasures as for the unit's Front panel controls to find out whether the problem is caused by the remote controller. If the front panel controls function correctly, check the batteries in the remote controller before assuming that there is a controller malfunction. NOTES: • If the remote control is operated from another room, the input selector source may be changed, or recording may be interrupted. • To disable remote control from another room, press the MR OFF button. The MR indicator lights up. • Some non-Onkyo remote controllers cannot be used. It' you cannot operate this unit using the remote controller in another room, do the following: • Try the controls on the main unit to make sure that it is working correctly. Then try using the remote controller to make sure that it is work- ing correctly. ►f it isn't, refer to page 10. • If you are using a component that doesn't support the Onkyo RI system, be sure to point the emitter of the remote control toward the component. • Make sure that the components are connected correctly. • Make sure that the MR OFF button on the TX-SV636 is off. The MR OFF indicator should be off. 43

Using
the
remote
controller
You
can
use
the
remote
controller
supplied
with
TX-SV636
to

the
source

the
multi
-source
if
they
are
an
Onkyo's
CD
or
cassette

the

mark.
If
you
wish
to
use
a
second
remote
controller
for
the
sub
room.
You
can
use
an

You
need

the

Try
the
controls

the
main
unit
to
make
sure
that
it
is
working
correctly.

using
the
remote
controller
to
make
sure
that
it
is
work-
ing
correctly.

a
component
that

support

system,
be
sure
to

the
remote
control

component.
Make
sure
that
the
components
are
connected
correctly.

OFF
button
on
the
TX-SV636
is
off.
The
MR
OFF
indicator
should
be
off.
