Listening in another room The TX-SV636 allows you to listen to a desired playback in another room (sub room) while listening to the playback of a device located in the main room. To do this, connect the speakers in another room to the FRONT SPEAKERS REMOTE terminals on the TX-SV636. Remote control from another room can be done by employing the Multiple Room Remote System ( ITR ). Refer to the connections for Multiple Room Remote Control. Be sure to operate the remote control pointing at the Remote Sensor. (See pages 18 and 19) The following steps (except step 2) can be performed using the remote controller. It is recommended that the adjustments described below be done in the main room in advance, since you cannot operate the remote control in another room while watching the display of the TX-SV636. Be sure to perform the following operations before you start recording. Set the MAIN/SUB selector switch to the SUB position when using the remote controller in the another room. 2. Turn the MR OFF button off. MR OFF indicator is turned off. 3. Press the MULTI-SOURCE button. 4. While the MULTI SOURCE indicator is flashing, use the input selector button to select the desired source. The chosen source will be displayed in a red box. (*) • If the tuner is selected with MULTI SOURCE and the input selector is set to something other than TUNER, the tuners frequency and group displays will be shown for 3 seconds. • When changing the source, be sure to press the MULTI- SOURCE button before pressing the input selector but- ton. Pressing the input selector button without first press- ing the MULTI-SOURCE button will change the source in the main room. • The remote controller can be used to combine steps 2 and 3 by fi rst setting the MAIN/SUB selector switch to SUB and pressing the AUDIO -4 /1.- or VIDEO button. 5. Adjust the level using the VOL or button on the remote controller. • Multi and the level will be indicated on the display. It is recommended that the level be set lower in advance in the main room (about - 66 dB). • Note that before adjusting the level using the VOL or button, set the MAIN/SUB selector switch on the remote controller to the SUB position and set the Device select switch to the position other than TV, CABLE. If the position is set to MAIN, the MASTER VOLUME affects the speaker volume in the main room, not the sub room. 6. Press the SPEAKERS REMOTE button to illuminate the REMOTE indicator. • Press the MAIN button to turn off the MAIN indicator if you are not listening to the sound in the main room. 42
