False Color Divides the brightness level of the input signal into 12 color palettes and displays them in different colors. The brightness of the image captured on the camera is displayed in different colors according to the signal level to make elements easier to identify visually and allow for easier iris recognition. This prevents blown out highlights and blocked out shadows, and preserves the colors needed for grading. Notes  False Color is applicable only when a signal with a resolution of 1280×720 or higher is input.  False Color is temporarily turned off when adjusting Gain/Bias of Internal Signal and User Color Temp.  ALM is temporarily turned off.  The Transparency setting for WFM, Vector Scope, and Time Code is temporarily set to Black.  Mono, Blue Only, RGB Cutoff, and Chroma Up are forcibly turned off.  When False Color1 of Screen A is set to On, Camera Focus is forcibly turned off. (Even when False Color2 of Screen B is set to On, Camera Focus is not forcibly turned off.)  False Color is also applied to Time Code and Closed Caption.  The image adjustment process is applied to images for which False Color was used and the scale part of False Color. However, Chroma is not applied when EOTF is set to 2.2, 2.4, 2.6, CRT or 2.4(HDR).  When IMD is set to On, the False Color display is temporarily disabled. The false color scale is also not displayed. Submenu False Color1 Color Palette Name False Color2 Color Palette Name Scale Display Setting Turns false color display On/Off.
