Using the Pedals The instrument features three pedals. Right Pedal Center Pedal 1 Left Pedal  Right pedal (Damper pedal) This pedal performs the same function as the damper pedal on an actual acoustic piano, letting you sustain the sound of the Voices even after releasing the keys. The right pedal can be used to control the half pedal effect. Half-pedal: While playing the piano with Sustain and you want to slightly mute the sustained sound, release the pedal from maximum position to half position or higher. Performing Piano Songs on the Clavinova • • • NOTE Certain Voices, such as [STRINGS] or [BRASS], sustain continuously when the right/ center pedal is pressed. When you press the right pedal here, the notes you play before you release the pedal have a longer sustain.  Center pedal (Sostenuto pedal) When the Piano Voice is selected, if you play a note or chord on the keyboard and press this pedal while holding the note(s), the notes will sustain as long as the pedal is held. All subsequent notes will not sustain. When a Voice other than piano is selected, a specific function appropriate for the Voice is automatically assigned to the center pedal. NOTE Certain Voices such as drum kits may not be affected by use of the right/ center pedal. • • • When you press the center pedal here while holding the note(s), the notes will sustain as long as you hold the pedal.  Left pedal When the Piano Voice is selected, pressing this pedal reduces the volume and slightly changes the timbre of the notes you play. When a Voice other than piano is selected, a specific function appropriate for the Voice is automatically assigned to the center pedal. NOTE You can adjust the depth of the left pedal effect. Performing Piano Songs on the Clavinova
The instrument features three pedals.
Right pedal (Damper pedal)
This pedal performs the same function as the damper pedal on an actual acoustic
piano, letting you sustain the sound of the Voices even after releasing the keys. The
right pedal can be used to control the half pedal effect.
Center pedal (Sostenuto pedal)
When the Piano Voice is selected, if you play a note or chord on the keyboard and
press this pedal while holding the note(s), the notes will sustain as long as the pedal is
held. All subsequent notes will not sustain. When a Voice other than piano is selected,
a specific function appropriate for the Voice is automatically assigned to the center
pedal.
Left pedal
When the Piano Voice is selected, pressing this pedal reduces the volume and slightly
changes the timbre of the notes you play. When a Voice other than piano is selected, a
specific function appropriate for the Voice is automatically assigned to the center
pedal.
