4 Web Based Management 4 Overview 4 A standard Web Browser can be used to manage your machine using the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) or Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS). You can manage your machine from a computer on your network using a web browser. Obtain Status information, maintenance information, and software version information for your Brother machine and scan server. 4 Change network and machine configuration details (see Configure Your Machine Settings on page 36.) NOTE We recommend Microsoft ® Internet Explorer® 8.0/9.0 for Windows® and Safari 5/6 for Macintosh. Please also make sure that JavaScript and Cookies are always enabled in whichever browser you use. If a different web browser is used, make sure it is compatible with HTTP 1.0 and HTTP 1.1. You must use the TCP/IP protocol on your network, and have a valid IP address programmed into the scan server and your computer. 35
