12 Important Information 12 Standard FCC Notices These notices are in effect on models sold and used in the United States only. If you experience trouble with your DCP-1000, please contact a Brother Authorized Service Center for information on obtaining service or repair. If you are not able to solve a problem with your DCP, contact Brother Customer Service. (See Brother Numbers, page i.) WARNING For protection against the risk of electrical shock, always disconnect all cables from the wall outlet before servicing, modifying or installing the equipment. Brother cannot accept any financial or other responsibilities that may be the result of your use of this information, including direct, special or consequential damages. There are no warranties extended or granted by this document. Laser Safety This equipment is certified as a Class I laser product under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Radiation Performance Standard according to the Radiation Control for Health and Safety Act of 1968. This means that the equipment does not produce hazardous laser radiation. Since radiation emitted inside the equipment is completely confined within protective housings and external covers, the laser beam cannot escape from the machine during any phase of user operation. FDA Regulations U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has implemented regulations for laser products manufactured on and after August 2, 1976. Compliance is mandatory for products marketed in the United States. One of the following labels on the back of the machine indicates compliance with the FDA regulations and must be attached to laser products marketed in the United States. Manufactured BROTHER CORP.
