Replacing the Presser Foot This section describes how to replace the presser foot. Presser foot precautions 1 Be sure to observe the following precautions concerning the presser foot. CAUTION ● Use the presser foot appropriate for the type of stitch that you wish to sew, otherwise the needle may hit the presser foot, causing the needle to bend or break. ● Only use presser feet designed specifically for this sewing machine. Use of any other presser foot may result in injuries or damage to the machine. Replacing the presser foot Replace the presser foot as described below. Memo z For details on attaching the embroidery foot "Q", refer to "Attaching the Embroidery Foot" (page 138). z Zigzag foot "J" is already installed when the sewing machine is purchased. Press (Needle position button) once or a twice to raise the needle. a CAUTION z Before replacing the presser foot, be sure to turn off the sewing machine. Otherwise, injuries may occur if one of the operation buttons is accidentally pressed and the machine starts sewing.
