OTHER RECORDING FUNCTIONS Using Auto Focus As its name suggests, Auto Focus focuses the image automatically. The automatic focus operation starts when you press the shutter button down half way. The following is the Auto Focus range. Range: Approximately 40cm to ∞ (1.3´ to ∞) 1. Press [̆] ( ) to cycle through the focus mode settings until there is no focus mode indicator on the display. 2. The image is not focused. 3. Press the shutter button the rest of the way to record the image. NOTE • When proper focusing is not possible because the subject is closer than the Auto Focus range, the camera automatically switches to the Macro mode range (page 70). I Auto Pan Focus When you press the shutter button all the way down in the Auto Focus mode without pausing, the camera immediately records the image using Pan Focus (page 71) without waiting for Auto Focus to be performed.
