The BrightStor ARCserve Backup Browser The BrightStor ARCserve Backup Browser To enable the BrightStor ARCserve Backup Manager to browse the Exchange organization you must meet two minimum requirements: ■ The Exchange Resource Kit must be installed on the machine on which the BrightStor ARCserve Backup Manager is running, if this machine does not have the Exchange Client or the Exchange Server installed. ■ The BrightStor ARCserve Backup Manager must be running on any Windows server in the same domain as the Exchange Server domain or in a different domain that is trusted by the Exchange Server domain. The Exchange database objects are represented in the BrightStor ARCserve Backup Manager browser using the same organizational structure used in the Exchange browser. The same Exchange objects in the BrightStor ARCserve Backup Browser are shown under two different branches of the BrightStor ARCserve Backup browser tree: Current BrightStor ARCserve Backup Server and Exchange Organization. The objects in the Exchange Organization branch mirror the organization shown in the Exchange Administrator for each server. You can select the Exchange databases or database objects from either branch of the BrightStor ARCserve Backup browser for backing up. Selecting Exchange Objects in the BrightStor ARCserve Backup Browser In the BrightStor ARCserve Backup browser, you can select objects at the following levels in the Exchange Organization tree: ■ Exchange Organization-Select this object to back up all the sites in the Exchange Organization. ■ Site-Select this object to back up all the servers in the site. ■ Server-Select this object to back up Directory and Information Store databases. This is equivalent to selecting the Microsoft Exchange Server object under the server. ■ Microsoft Exchange Server-Select this object to back up Directory and Information Store databases. Expand this object to back up either the Directory or Information Store. ■ Microsoft Exchange Server Brick Level-Select this to back up all mailboxes and public folders for this server. We do not recommend that you back up all mailboxes and folders, due to the inefficiency of this method. —Select this object to back up all the servers in the site.
Server
—Select this object to back up Directory and Information Store
databases. This is equivalent to selecting the Microsoft Exchange Server

Microsoft Exchange Server
—Select this object to back up Directory and
Information Store databases. Expand this object to back up either the
Directory or Information Store.
Microsoft Exchange Server Brick Level
—Select this to back up all
mailboxes and public folders for this server. We do not recommend that you
back up all mailboxes and folders, due to the inefficiency of this method.
Expand this object to back up individual mailboxes and folders.
