Backing Up Backup Options BrightStor ARCserve Backup and the Backup Agent provide a variety of backup options from which to choose, depending upon your backup needs. Exchange Database Backup Options BrightStor ARCserve Backup offers the following backup options for Microsoft Exchange database backups: ■ Normal (or full)-Backs up entire databases, as well as the log files. BrightStor ARCserve Backup marks all backed up files. These marks are used by the Incremental and Differential options to determine which files have changed since the last backup. ■ Copy-Same as a normal backup, except it does not mark files. We recommend that you use Copy to back up files without disturbing existing incremental or differential backups. ■ Incremental-Backs up files that have changed since the last normal or incremental backup, and marks the files as backed up. ■ Differential-Backs up files that have changed since the last backup. It does not however mark them as backed up. ■ Generate CRC-Creates a checksum during data transmission for error detection. Important! Disable Microsoft Exchange database circular logging before a backup using the incremental or differential methods. Exchange Database Backup Options
BrightStor ARCserve Backup offers the following backup options for Microsoft
Exchange database backups:
Normal (or full)
