Database Level Backup and Restore for Exchange Server 2000 and 2003 Database Level Backup Features The following sections include information on the features that the CA ARCserve Backup Agent for Microsoft Exchange offers when performing database level backups. Database Level Backup Methods When you submit a backup job, you must select a backup method. The backup method tells CA ARCserve Backup how you want your data to be backed up. When you use the agent, you can select a backup method for your Database Level backup job at the storage group level or you can use a globally scheduled backup method. Important! If you select to back up only a mailbox store or public folder store without dynamically selecting the entire storage group, the copy backup method is automatically used so that the storage group's logs are not affected. To select a backup method at the storage group level, explicitly select the storage group's parent database object (Microsoft Exchange Server - Database Level (IS), Microsoft Site Replication Service, or Microsoft Key Management Service object), and select Agent Option from the pop-up menu: Note: For more information on explicit job packaging, see the Administration Guide. 36 Agent for Microsoft Exchange Guide

Database Level Backup Features
The following sections include information on the features that the CA
ARCserve Backup Agent for Microsoft Exchange offers when performing
database level backups.
Database Level Backup Methods
When you submit a backup job, you must select a backup method. The backup
method tells CA ARCserve Backup how you want your data to be backed up.
When you use the agent, you can select a backup method for your Database
Level backup job at the storage group level or you can use a globally
scheduled backup method.
Important!
If you select to back up only a mailbox store or public folder store
without dynamically selecting the entire storage group, the copy backup
method is automatically used so that the storage group’s logs are not affected.
To select a backup method at the storage group level, explicitly select the
storage group’s parent database object (Microsoft Exchange Server – Database
