DGS-1520 Series Gigabit Ethernet Smart Managed Switch Web UI Reference Guide Parameter Group Name SNMP Version SNMP V3 Encryption Auth-Protocol by Password Priv-Protocol by Password Auth-Protocol by Key Priv-Protocol by Key IP Access-List Name Description Enter the SNMP group name to which the user belongs. This name can be up to 32 characters long. Spaces are not allowed. Specifies that SNMP version 3 (SNMPv3) is used. Select the SNMPv3 encryption type here. Options to choose from are None, Password, and Key. After selecting the Password encryption type, select the authentication protocol here. Options to choose from are: • MD5 - Specifies to use the HMAC-MD5-96 authentication protocol. Enter the password in the Password textbox. The password can be from 8 to 16 characters long. • SHA - Specifies to use the HMAC-SHA authentication protocol. Enter the password in the Password textbox. The password can be from 8 to 20 characters long. After selecting the Password encryption type, select the private protocol here. Options to choose from are: • None - Specifies to use no authorization protocol. • DES56 - Specifies to use DES 56-bit encryption based on the CBC-DES (DES-56) standard. Enter the password in the Password textbox. The password can be from 8 to 16 characters long. • AES - Specifies to use Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption. Enter the password in the Password textbox. The password can be from 8 to 16 characters long. After selecting the Key encryption type, select the authentication protocol here. Options to choose from are: • MD5 - Specifies to use the HMAC-MD5-96 authentication protocol. Enter the key in the Key textbox. The key must be 32 characters long. • SHA - Specifies to use the HMAC-SHA authentication protocol. Enter the key in the Key textbox. The key must be 40 characters long. After selecting the Key encryption type, select the private protocol here. Options to choose from are: • None - Specifies to use no authorization protocol. • DES56 - Specifies to use DES 56-bit encryption, based on the CBC-DES (DES-56) standard. Enter the key in the Key textbox. The key must be 32 characters long. • AES - Specifies to use AES encryption. Enter the key in the Key textbox. The key must be 32 characters long. Enter the standard IP access control list to associate with the user. Click the Add button to add a new entry based on the information entered. Click the Delete button to remove the specified entry. 46

Group Name

Enter the SNMP group name to which the user belongs. This name can be up to

32 characters long. Spaces are not allowed.

SNMP Version

Specifies that SNMP version 3 (SNMPv3) is used.

SNMP V3 Encryption

Select the SNMPv3 encryption type here. Options to choose from are

None

Password

Auth-Protocol by Password

After selecting the

encryption type, select the authentication protocol

here. Options to choose from are:

MD5

- Specifies to use the HMAC-MD5-96 authentication protocol. Enter the

password in the
