UPnP Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) is a feature that allows the router to find the devices on the network that can communicate with the router and allow for auto-configuration. If UPnP detects a network device, the router can open internal or external ports for the traffic protocol required by that network device. If the UPnP feature is disabled, the gateway can not configure an automatic device, and you may have to manually open /forward ports to allow applications to work.
