Client The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) simplifies the configuration and management of the IP address of the devices like printers, laptops, desktops, etc., present on the network. A range of IP addresses that are assigned for the devices is known as the DHCP pool. When you add a device to a network where it gets its IP address from the DHCP server dynamically, one of the IP addresses from the configured DHCP pool is assigned to the device. However, these IP addresses are given to the clients only for a limited amount of time, and this process is called a DHCP lease. The DHCP lease gets renewed on its own after the lease time is expired.
