Expansion cards and expansion card risers NOTE: A System Event Log (SEL) event is logged if an expansion card riser is not supported or missing. It does not prevent your system from turning on. However, if a F1/F2 pause occurs, an error message is displayed. Expansion bus specifications The PowerEdge R440 system supports PCI express (PCIe) generation three expansion cards, which must be installed on the system board using expansion card risers. The R440 system supports three types of expansion card risers. Table 46.
