Installation Installing 1U PDUs Horizontally To install the 1U PDUs horizontally: 1. Select the desired height position to install the PDU. NOTE Make sure to select mounting holes that are parallel to each other so that the PDU will be level when installed. 2. For square-hole racks. Install cage nuts in the appropriate mounting holes (see the previous section, "Installing Cage Nuts"). Insert and tighten two M6 screws through the ears on each side of the PDU (see Figure 8). Figure 8. Installing the 1U PDU Horizontally 3. Continue to "Grounding the PDU" on page 16 if you are installing a ground screw and grounding cable. Otherwise, go to "Network and Environmental Ports" on page 17. Vertical Installation The following vertical configurations are available: l A single 36U or 42U PDU on one side or both sides of the rack l Two 36U or 42U PDUs side-by-side on one side or both sides of the rack l A single or two 22U PDUs on one side or both sides of the rack NOTE Two 22U PDU models fit vertically in a 42U HP rack with one mounted on top of the other. A top and button mounting button should be installed on each Enterprise PDU to install it vertically. The mounting buttons are then inserted into the corresponding keyhole slot. Installing 1U PDUs Horizontally
To install the 1U PDUs horizontally:
1.
Select the desired height position to install the PDU.
2.
For square-hole racks.
Install cage nuts in the appropriate mounting holes (see the previous section,
“Installing Cage Nuts”). Insert and tighten two M6 screws through the ears on each side of the PDU (see
Figure 8).

Continue to “Grounding the PDU” on page 16 if you are installing a ground screw and grounding cable.
Otherwise, go to “Network and Environmental Ports” on page 17.
Vertical Installation
The following vertical configurations are available:
l
A single 36U or 42U PDU on one side or both sides of the rack
l
Two 36U or 42U PDUs side-by-side on one side or both sides of the rack
l
A single or two 22U PDUs on one side or both sides of the rack
A top and button mounting button should be installed on each Enterprise PDU to install it vertically. The
mounting buttons are then inserted into the corresponding keyhole slot.
NOTE
Make sure to select mounting holes that are parallel to each other so that the PDU
will be level when installed.
NOTE
Two 22U PDU models fit vertically in a 42U HP rack with one mounted on top of the
other.
