NOTE: The following sections expand on concepts / procedures mentioned in Color profiling and refinement on page 22 (under the Detailed Production Processes > Color profiling and refinement chapter). Magenta1 Separation Magenta1 separation is used as part of the Indichrome process using CMYKOV. The extra separation is intended for reduction of moiré for large areas of print that use Orange ink as part of the process (Orange shares the same screen angle as Magenta which can cause moiré). Magenta1 is recommended for quicker, more accurate color. Magenta1 should only be removed as part of the Strategy for proper color process conversion. Issues will arise if Magenta1 Separation is disabled at either the Press or DFE Job Properties. Naming conventions It is important to have a color strategy name that can quickly and easily indicate the exact purpose in creating that color strategy (i.e., what is it to be used for). Here are some suggested naming conventions for profiles / strategies: ● Ink Set_Substrate name_LUT_Linescreen_Creation_Date (for example: CMYKOV_BOPP_Linear_196_Apr082017). ● When printing on Clear or Metallic, white ink may need to be used (for example: CMYKOVW_MetPoly_Linear_196_Apr082017). - A custom ink name for White may be needed - Extra Output Inks - white would be assigned Other things to keep in mind when naming Color Strategies and/or jobs: ● Only alpha numeric characters, underscores and dashes are allowed. ● Characters not supported include HP Indigo Digital Presses color specifications The color specifications listed in the tables below represent the nominal tolerance that we can indicate as being achievable at the HP Indigo digital presses. However, if customers follow the operation-related recommendations, they can obtain better results than indicated by the nominal color specifications. 40 Appendix A Appendix

Naming conventions
It is important to have a
color strategy name
that can quickly and easily indicate the exact purpose in
creating that color strategy (i.e., what is it to be used for).
Here are some suggested naming conventions for profiles / strategies:
Ink Set_Substrate name_LUT_Linescreen_Creation_Date
(for example:
CMYKOV_BOPP_Linear_196_Apr082017
).
When printing on Clear or Metallic, white ink may need to be used
(for example:
CMYKOVW_MetPoly_Linear_196_Apr082017
).
A custom ink name for White may be needed
Extra Output Inks – white would be assigned
Other things to keep in mind when naming Color Strategies and/or jobs:
