If the switch is not offline, a prompt is displayed before the test is allowed to proceed. Note: Taking the switch offline disrupts switch operation. Switch online command example After the switch is offline, proceed with the test. Running diagnostics using Telnet All Telnet commands are case-sensitive and, therefore, must be entered exactly as described in the following text. The following tests are available from the local Telnet port of the switch: v Switch offline test (switchDisable) v Memory test (ramTest) v Port register test (portRegTest) v Central memory test (centralMemoryTest) v CMI conn test (cmiTest) v CAM test (camTest) v Port loopback test (portLoopbackTest) v Cross port test (crossPortTest) v Spin silk test (spinSilk) v SRAM data retention test (sramRetentionTest) v CMEM data retention test (cmemRetentionTest) v Switch online test (switchEnable) Press Ctrl+C+Enter to abort, continue, view stats, or log test results. Once you press Ctrl+C+Enter, you receive the message: Diags: (Q)uit, (C)ontinue, (S)tats, (L)og v Enter Q to abort the diag test v Enter C to continue testing v Enter S to view...... v Enter L to save results.........
